𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐟𝐚𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞. 💪

Resilience is often built in tough moments....over the years, I've had my share of ups and downs.🎢 Here are a few lessons I’ve picked up along the way - some might resonate with you, too.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬.

20 years ago, I got my first hearing aids. From the boardroom to the birds outside, the world expanded - I’ve never taken the sound of birdsong or gentle waves crashing for granted. 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘧𝘧.

𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥.

15 years ago, I took a leap into tech, as a Recruitment Manager at ASOS. The pace was wild, the learning curve huge and the fun was off the scale. I went on to work at many other tech companies - some a great fit, others less so. It taught me how critical it is to find a place where you feel comfortable to be fully yourself. 𝘐𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘦𝘵, 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 - 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘵.

𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞.

10 years ago, my 20-week scan revealed serious health challenges for my first child. My journey as a parent suddenly required a whole new level of strength. 𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴, 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘺 - 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦.

𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝.

3 years ago, my own sudden health emergency forced me to rethink what really mattered. Initially, I couldn’t even lift a kettle but step-by-step, I regained my strength, fitness and started to re-prioritise my life. 𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴, 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘱𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥, 𝘣𝘪𝘵 𝘣𝘺 𝘣𝘪𝘵.

𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭. 

About 1 year ago, after navigating various tech ups and downs and layoffs, I went all-in on my passion: coaching and helping others create lives aligned with what matters most (all the reasons I loved Recruitment too). 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘦 - 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦.
